Growing Up

I never liked big birthdays. My family is not very ceremonial; I secretly dread throwing parties in my honour and the most I'm comfortable with is an intimate meal. A serene day is all I ever ask for on my birthday. Freshly baked bread and eggless chocolate cake, followed by a girly action movie on Harley Quinn, are the best I could hope during lockdown birthday. My birthday wish? That with time I continue to learn the true value of things and appreciate the authentic and real fortunes I have rather than abstract, idealised ones, something which we're somehow all learning right now!
